Memory Monitor v1.1 (Build 1.1.0009)
Copyright 2001 Jon Grieve

About
-----
Memory Monitor shows the state of memory available to Windows.

The monitor window shows the physical, virtual (swap file) and total memory
values, along with a usage graph, making it easy to visualise the memory load.

Installation
------------
Memory Monitor doesn't have an installation program. All that's required is the
program itself (memmon.exe) and the VB5 Runtime DLL (MSVBVM50.DLL). The runtime
file is available from my homepage (URL below).

Once downloaded, put the runtime file into the Windows\System directory and
memmon.exe into the directory of your choice. Then, create the usual shortcuts for
your Desktop and Start Menu.

Usage
-----
The horizontal line on the graph indicates the point where physical memory is fully
used. While the plot is above that line, there is physical memory free. At the point
physical memory is completely used, the plot will drop below the line and show the amount
of virtual memory (swap file) in use.

Ideally, you should never see the plot fall below the horizontal line. However, in the
real world, there will be times when you load so many applications, browser windows,
etc. that all physical memory will be used up and Windows will have to resort to swapping
to disk. If you see that Memory Monitor shows the line almost constantly below the
horizontal line, then it may be time to purchase some more RAM for your computer...
